Getting Started
What is in this guide:
A listing of recommended resources for this class along with instructions on finding full text articles is located in Recommended Resources.
As most of the recommended databases are EBSCO databases the EBSCO General Guide provides tips that will help in a search in any EBSCO database.
ERIC, Education Research Complete & PsycINFO high-lights the special features of the specialized EBSCO databases
Google Scholar tells you how to set Google Scholar so it searches for journals held by McConnell Library
As a distance education student you can request that books, dvds, etc. that McConnell Library owns plus books that McConnell Library does not own be sent to you free of charge. You will receive a postage paid addressed envelope to return items. Getting books, DVDs, etc describes how to do this.
Citing with APA is an online guide for the 5th edition of the APA manaul. Please Note: APA released the 6th edition of the manual this summer. The library is not yet supporting the 6th edition - we will do so in Spring 2010.
